Specialist Wellness Counsellor
Safe Haven Wellness was created as a safe and intentional space for emotional well-being, a space where clients can begin to understand their experiences more deeply, build healthier coping skills, and develop the resilience and self-awareness needed to navigate life beyond our sessions.
What sets my work apart is my power of perception. I don’t position myself as someone who has all the answers, but as someone who helps you access your own. Through thoughtful guidance and reflection, I work with your thinking ability to help you make sense of your inner world, like piecing together your own puzzle, while I offer a clear and grounded perspective.
My approach is rooted in truth, depth, and reflection. My intention is that you leave each session feeling lighter, more aware, and able to see your life through a new lens.

“The counsellor was incredibly helpful. Makaziwe was professional, insightful, and created a safe space for both my spouse and me to navigate our challenges and uncover underlying insecurities.”
“Through her guidance, we learned practical tools to communicate more effectively and understand each other on a deeper level. She helped us recognise that many of the challenges we were facing were external to our relationship and showed us how to remain united when facing difficult situations together.”
“Most importantly, she helped us shape a stronger vision of partnership, teamwork, and mutual support. Excellent service, and I highly recommend her.”
“I initially came to counselling to process grief, but what I gained was so much more. Makaziwe has a unique ability to guide you beyond the surface. Before I knew it, I was doing deep work on myself, and that has been one of the greatest gifts of this journey.”
“She is firm, but in the best possible way. You can tell she knows exactly what she is doing, which gives you confidence in the process.”
“I continue my journey with her because personal growth never stops. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone who is ready and willing to do the work.”
“Words fail me when it comes to my counsellor. I had some of the most meaningful sessions of my life. Being able to communicate with her when I needed support made the process feel safe and accessible.”
“I may not be 100% yet, but I am so much stronger and healthier than I was before. For that, I will always be grateful.”
“Thank you, Makaziwe.”
“I came for counselling in 2025 after losing my wife in 2023. At first, I believed that as a man I simply had to endure the pain. As time passed, I found myself struggling with depression and anxiety.”
“Through counselling, I learned that while I cannot change what happened, I can learn how to cope with difficult days. The practical tools I was given continue to help me.”
“I am deeply grateful for the support I received. I would not be the man I am becoming today had I not sought help and addressed my grief, depression, and anxiety. Words can never be enough. Thank you.”
